From Universal Hobbies comes a large, 1/16 scale model of a Fordson E27N Major tractor [1], in dark blue with orange wheels. ‘E’ signified England, ‘27’ the 27hp power output and ‘N’ was Ford’s code for an agricultural vehicle. These were built in Dagenham from 1945 to 1952. They retained the earlier Model N’s 4.4 litre sidevalve engine and three-speed gearbox. A low compression head for running on TVO or high compression head for petrol were available. The model is nicely detailed and retails at £75.

In the same range and scale is a 1949 Ferguson TEA-20 , the classic grey Fergie, built in Coventry until 1956 when it was replaced by the FE
