Sleeping on your own is good for the soul

If you’re feeling ‘bah humbug’ about Valentine’s Day – or even love in general – then here’s some good news: sleeping on your own is good for you! These days, most married or co-habiting couples are expected to share a bed, so it may come as a surprise to learn that a National Sleep Foundation survey found that 10% of married couples sleep in separate bedrooms while up to 25% sleep in separate beds. Snoring is one of the reasons given for sleeping alone, as are hot flushes in menopausal women. And if it works – why not? After all, it’s well known that not getting enough sleep can lead to health
