What knitting taught me in 2020

Well! What a year that was! We all knew that our chosen crafts were important to us but were reminded of just how essential they are during the lockdowns of 2020, along with our health, our families and the ability to go for a walk or to the shops.

A BRAND NEW START

As 2021 starts I feel a great sense back issues and came across a supplement from issue 167 entitled, ‘Snuggly Knits’. It features a sweet Scandi-style pattern for a child’s Christmas jumper, called ‘Little Deer’ by Val Pierce. I’ve always stayed away from festive kids’ knits because they’ll only wear them a few times and by next year they won’t fit. But I had the yarn already and was persuaded by the fact that I’m pregnant with my second child, so the jumper may be worn as a hand-medown. However, it didn’t quite go to plan!
