What We Watch

I am watching: reality show Richard Ayoade: Gadget Man (2012-2015) season 3 (of 4) on YouTube.
My take on this show: Richard’s (Moss in sitcom The IT Crowd, 2006-2013) prickly, A-social persona, playful use of words and dry wit makes him perfect to host a show about all the weird sorts of gadgets that you can use to do all the things he hates, like going places, meeting people, walking up scenic hills and doing anything that makes his meat suit leak fluids. Gadget Man isn’t afraid to play up the absurd uselessness of some of the products featured, like a motorised snowboard meant to move you up a slope but probably couldn’t even propel a small dog or a crumpet.
