What’s going on with our kids?

Our children are the future, but with mounting pressures from social media, relationships, exams and the pandemic, they’re facing ever-increasing worries and stresses – and their woes may not be immediately obvious.

The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2021 (1-7 February) is ‘Express Yourself’ – finding ways to share feelings, thoughts or ideas through creativity. The organisers are providing resources for schools and organisations, as well as for parents and carers.

It’s thought 10% of young people aged five to 16 have a clinically diagnosable mental-health issue , yet 70% have not had appropriate interventions at an early age.*
