Q I have seen a rifle I quite like but the length of pull is quite short for me, is length of pull as important with a rifle as with a shotgun?
A Chris says: Rifle shooting seems a little more deliberate and static than shotgunning’s more dynamic movement so it is perhaps easier with more time to accommodate imperfect fit, but it’s very interesting to feel how a well-fitting rifle makes you more comfortable, gives you less conscious items to do and feels more naturally comfortable and consistent. Handling the recoil on a short rifle can be twitchy as it’s easy to lessen or lose recoil pad contact entirely which on larger calibres will bite you hard.
