Five things to do
With autumn on its way, what better way to take advantage of the cooler weather than by basking in naturally heated geothermic mineral waters on Victoria’s Morning-ton Peninsula? 1. Drink: Whatever you fancy – beer, wine, cider or spirits – there’s a local producer to try. Red Hill Brewery’s hops garden is used to brew the beers in the barn, while the St Andrews Beach brewery features beers made on the premises and served at the restaurant. The Wine Food Farmgate trail offers the full spectrum of the peninsula’s fresh produce and local wines.
2. Gardens: Just 45 minutes outside Melbourne, the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Cranbourne Gardens, features 170,000 native plants displayed in settings replicating Australia’s diverse landscape, from the Red Centre to the coastal fringes, spread over 15 hectares.
