Having not been updated since 2016, we feared Open Hardware Monitor might end up on the software scrapheap. However, in February it was given fresh impetus with a new version, and has received several updates since. This is one of the best tools for keeping an eye on your PC’s internal components. You can monitor the temperature of your processor, graphics card, hard drive and more, and all data is updated in real time. Right-click an entry, such as your hard-drive temperature, and you’ll find options to monitor it via a chart on your desktop or a system-tray icon (see screenshot below left).
