Dead famous shooters

We shooters get bad press and are often portrayed as a bunch of bloodthirsty toffs in tweed, or as psychotic weirdos creeping around woods in camo. In this article I want to redress the balance and show that shooters have achieved great things in the arts, conservation and medicine.

If it wasn’t for shooting, our first dead famous shooter probably would not have drifted into the field which was to make his name and benefit humanity so much. After excelling in his medical studies, Alexander Fleming was about to leave St Mary’s Hospital Medical School to become a surgeon. The head of the school’s rifle team knew Fleming was a good shot and needed to keep him in the team,
