Chris’s choice
The love game can be confusing at times and right now, Ruiterbosch resident Chris (Marcel van Heerden) is in the throngs of a love triangle. His wagon is already hitched to Bridgette (Denise Newman), his girlfriend and boss at Suidooster Properties, but with the recent confession of his housemate Kate (Annelisa Weiland) that she’s got feelings for him, Chris is confused. But while it seems that Kate is slowly winning him over, Bridgette will never stand for the humiliation of being dumped.
CONFUSED CHRIS
Kate is determined to move out of the house she shares with Chris until he can make up his mind. She goes to estate agent Zoe (Lauren Joseph) at Jacobs Property Development and asks Zoe to find her a new place to rent, which adds to Chris’s confusion. Marcel adds that his character Chris was caught offguard by Kate’s confession. “He’s still struggling to process the news, and he isn’t sure how he feels about both Kate and Bridgette.” Meanwhile, Chris starts adding distance between himself and Bridgette, which makes her wonder what’s going on.
PLEASE STAY
Kate and Chris continue to have awkward encounters while she waits for news about a new home, but when she starts packing her bags later in the fortnight, Chris stops her and asks her to stay. “Chris plays open cards with Kate and says that he likes her too, but that he is in a strange place, torn between the two women. But he wants her to stay,” says Marcel. When Chris goes to Bridgette, it’s a different story and she is anything but confused. “She chases Chris away, furious. No one breaks up with Bridgette. She does the breaking up,” adds Marcel.
A LOVER’S REVENGE
While Chris’s date night with Kate goes well, his work-life is a whole other story. He works for Bridgette still and she isn’t about to let him have his cake and eat it too. Bridgette undermines Chris at every corner and even tries to banish him to Mossel Bay under the cover of managing a project there. But Chris refuses. “He knows what Bridgette is doing and he won’t be intimidated,” says Marcel. While Bridgette always gets her way, maybe this is one time where she should step back, let the couple be happy and find her own peace. Who are we kidding – Bridgette isn’t letting this one go!

Carmen and Rhafiek’s son Mikhail was born prematurely, Kate developed feelings for Chris who was starting a relationship with Bridgette, and Gino tried to convince his daughter Joy to let her mom come to Ruiterbosch.
7 – 9 APRIL
Chris confronts Kate about her decision, and the Samsodiens struggle with their emotions. Gino has an important decision to make, Carmen tries to stay positive about her son, and Kaashifa takes her fiancé Imraan to task. Mrs J feels guilty about the church’s missing funds, and Carmen lashes out at Mymoena. Imraan plans a romantic date, and Chris struggles to process Kate’s confession.
