Cooking and food has always been a big deal in my family, but the dish that resonates with me most is my mum’s chicken korma.

She makes it twice a year for all the family when we celebrate Eid. When I was young, there might be up to 60 relatives all crammed into our house in Bedford, and I have such lovely memories of that time. There were never enough tables or chairs, and we’d all be perching on work surfaces or sitting on the floor.
