GT: Do you have a type of pick that you can’t live without?

SM: Fender Heavy – the classic celluloid ones. Upside down. Also like the mediums. Can’t use any other picks though. Or if I pick up a used one, I can’t deal with the rough edges.

GT: If you had to give up all your pedals but three, what would they be?

SM: Well I’ve got to say it would be my signature fuzz pedal the SM Fuzz, Octavia pedal and I love the Origin Effects Cali 76 compressor for clean sounds.
