Lying on the patio floor, I couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Stunned, I’d fallen through a glass door and was covered in shards of glass.
One minute, I’d been chatting on the phone to a friend, and the next, my legs had turned to jelly and I’d collapsed.
My dad, Stephen, rushed over to me.
‘Brooke, what happened?’ he cried, shocked at the sight of his stricken 13-year-old daughter.
‘I wass jusst…’ I tried to explain, but my words were slurring badly.
