WHAT ARE MONUMENTS?

Ocean monuments are large temples that generate only in deep ocean biomes and are entirely submerged in water, making it very difficult to survive inside them. The monuments are built entirely from prismarine and lit by sea lanterns. Very strong, fish-like enemies called guardians spawn in and around them and attack anything that comes near. Each one also contains three elder guardians, which are even larger and stronger!

In the centre of a monument, you’ll find the treasure chamber, which contains eight gold blocks surrounded by dark prismarine and protected by an elder
