Understanding TEENAGERS

F YOU’VE EVER taken your child ten pin bowling, you may have shown them how to roll the ball towards the pins. After a while they will most likely have wanted to roll it for themselves and sometimes the ball might hit the target, sometimes it might be close to the target and sometimes the ball might veer off towards the side gutters. Having already pre-empted this, the bumpers are up on the side so the ball can gently right itself. This is a great metaphor for the parenting role too. You’re there to show them the way but you’ll step back when they want to explore for themselves,
