SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS?

Over the last few months I have noticed a variety of readers with problems similar to mine. My problems: short legs, slightly arthritic hips (need centre stand to get on the bike), baby-boomer – aka, no longer young and consequential failing strength for physically manoeuvring bikes around (no problem once going).

So our favourite BMW R1200RT had to go after a problematic boarding of the IoM ferry (wet steel deck, slow speed shuffle, long narrow gap, cleats in the deck, etc.).

Requirement: small RT. Replaced with a BMW F800GT – I’m sure it is a lovely bike but it just isn’t, well, inspiring? And as I get older and physically less able, still a bit heavy to manoeuvre. What next?
