As I walked into Chepstow Racecourse with my husband, Chris, then 52, I surveyed the sea of colourful hats. As always on Ladies Day, everyone was dressed to impress, with most of the women modelling a new frock and a dazzling hat. Admiring every outfit, I noticed other racegoers doing the same to me, smiling their approval at my hat. Later that day, I was stunned to be crowned Best Dressed Woman. I
