Some Fallow Philosophy

TROPHY hunting has never been my main motivation for hunting deer. Hunting deer has always been first and foremost about the main prize–meat! Usually this means that, if I am out deer hunting, I am after meat and if I see a doe or a spiker first, I’m not going to risk waiting them out for a big antlered buck.
I’ve been lucky enough to have a great mate provide some access to a couple of properties with some deer, so my freezer is well stocked. It could always be more full, but I had enough to get us through for a while. This presented somewhat of a problem, nay an opportunity. Why not go out and chase a buck during the rut?
