Destination NSW Snowy Mts

Five things to do

1. Visit: Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre

Before you reach the mountains themselves, stop in Cooma at the Discovery Centre and find out the history of one of the civil engineering wonders of the world, the Snowy Mountains Scheme. There are displays showing what life was like during the construction phase along with an overview of the dams, tunnels and power stations, as well as the progress of Snowy 2.0.

2. Indulge: Wildbrumby Distillery

Located along the Alpine Way, Wildbrumby produces a range of award-winning schnapps onsite including Sour Apple, Pear William and Butterscotch. The cafe pays homage to co-founder Monika’s Austrian heritage, with dishes like goulash and apple strudel. After trying the schnapps, wander through the sculpture garden.

3. Do: Snowsports

Hit the slopes and take your pick from Thredbo, Perisher or Charlotte Pass. Thredbo is home to five of Australia’s longest runs
