The yellow fronds of the laburnum tree in my yard are alive with bees. Even with my defective hearing, the buzz is unmistakable. When you stand and watch there are bees of all shapes and colours. I can identify a few, but many are alien to me. It astonishes me how little I know about many things around me in the natural world. That said, my thirst for learning more has never been stronger.
