THIS show marked a turning point in Fiona Bigwood’s budding partnership with Hawtins Delicato, as they won both the grand prix and special in decisive fashion. Fiona, who won team silver for Britain at the 2016 Rio Olympics, bought the Diamond Hit 13-year-old – a team bronze medallist at the 2018 World Equestrian Games – from Carl Hester in 2020. This was her first international victory with the sensitive but supremely talented “Del”, and the grand prix garnered their best score to date – 74.09%.
