Soon only the rich will drive

HOW right Dave Phillips was about vanished names (LRM, July). Having owned 21 Rovers and Land Rovers I am sad about that. We had a Range Rover over 30 years ago and I would certainly prefer that to a modern one.

I think that we are in real danger of hitting the technological buffers. I accept that ‘green’ policies require more electronic ‘interference’ but I see this as a major life limiting issue of the vehicles.

I have been in three cars in which the engines have stopped dead due to sensor failure – something that is potentially life limiting on a ‘Smart’ motorway!
