With every passing day comes another startling headline from Hungary, as a nationalist government continues its crackdown on LGBTQI lives and freedoms in Central Europe.
The latest push for “traditional values”, led by prime minister Viktor Orbán, has seen a “propaganda law” modelled on one introduced by Russia in 2013 pushed through parliament, but which goes even further: banning content that promotes or portrays “divergence from self-identity corresponding to sex at birth, sex change or homosexuality” which might be seen by those under 18.
