Over two decades ago, a game was released that allowed you to live out your deepest, darkest assassin fantasies. This game was simply called Hitman. You played as Agent 47, a bald emotionless assassin that traveled the globe to take out the worst humanity had to offer. The game itself was a bit broken and buggy at times, but the true potential was there for everyone to see. 20 years later and 7 games under their belt, IO Interactive has finally hit the pinnacle of the series with the release of Hitman 3, but what makes this series so special and why is this game seen as arguably the best in the series?

The Hitman series saw a soft reboot in 2016, going back to what made the series so unique after the rather bland Hitman: Absolution from 2012. The premise is simple, you are a hitman out to assassinate specific targets in specific ways. However, you are put in a massive sandbox level and how you take out your target is up to you. Do you sneak around, gather intel, and make the whole thing look like an accident as you casually walk out the front door, everyone none the wiser to your dastardly acts?
