Your iPhone’s Settings Explained

If there’s something you need to change in one of your apps, such as the preferred language, whether Siri can learn from it or if it can send you notifications, you go to the Settings app. You can also customise the iPhone’s key features such as the phone, Screen Time and Control Centre too and if you didn’t set up Siri, Wallet and more during your initial iPhone setup, it’s Settings to where you should look. Your personal Apple ID settings, such as iCloud, Family Sharing and Find My, are also found in the Settings app.

There’s far more in the Settings app than we can cover here, so instead, we’ll give you an overview of its key features. If you familiarise yourself with the Settings functions covered here, mastery of the application as a whole is yours.

Searching Settings

The Settings app has an excellent search function, found at the top of the page. Tap the Search field to bring up the virtual keyboard and type the search term before tapping the keyboard’s Search button.
