When widowed paramedic Bab’Gumede (Sifiso Sibiya) arrives to work dishevelled, wearing mismatched shoes, his friends stage an intervention. “They are concerned about his well-being,” explains Sifiso, whose character has been in a bout of depression since his wife MaCele (Monica Thuli Zulu) died from a heart attack in June this year after Bab’Gumede’s illegitimate son was revealed.

Rather than sending Bab’Gumede to therapy, his self-appointed (Mxolisi ZuluBoy Majozi) sets him up on a blind date with young, sassy Amahle (Ntombenhle Gumede). “Considering that he’s lonely, and struggling to take care of himself, MacGyver sets out to find his friend a new wife,” reveals Sifiso.
