Taking Control
This month’s subject is Mars-Pluto. What’s that you say? You find the topic an unpleasant one? You’d rather I discussed something pleasant, like Venus? But we’ve discussed Venus in three out of the last four months, and besides that the Sun spends most of November in Scorpio, a sign ruled by both Mars and Pluto. Mars enters that sign on October 30, and leaves on December 13, so we do need to read the writing on the astrological wall. So Mars and Pluto it will be. After all, their planetary interaction has to do with the power of action – and, some will say, with a desire to act in a controlling way. So in that spirit I have decided to take control, making the tough decisions and acting upon them.
I’ll begin with a long side-note by pointing out that Emily Dickinson (born December 10, 1830 at 5:00 a.m. LMT according to family records reported in biographies) had a natal conjunction between these two planets in Aries in her 5th house. This natal aspect obviously differs from the transit-to-natal aspects that concern us this month, but it provides a doorway into the kind of energy involved.
