Rebranded Marumo Gallants will be hoping to build on what was, in the end, a solid first season as a top-flight side in the 2020-21 campaign when they played under the name Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM).

The club were initially a laughing stock in the top division after purchasing the status of BidVest Wits, unveiling players in pre-season that did not belong to them and having just three on the bench for their opening match of the campaign, one of which was goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

It all smacked of chaos and disorganization, and it was clear from the outset that owner Lawrence Mulaudzi was out of his depth, though he was not helped by incompetent officials who he later claimed had committed fraud against the club.
