This is the first skill you need to master in order to complete a truly independent downwind SUP foil. While it isn’t necessary to paddle up in true flatwater you will want to hone your technique so you can get close and your technique is sound. Once there is big wind and wind chop behind you, you will have the technique to be able to get up and going, creating your own chip shot from anywhere along your downwind run.
