Now I know what you‘re thinking. 2 mm? Seriously? But hear me out. I have my larger models for detail, but my smaller models for gameplay, ease of transport, and cost. So, gentle reader, consider the following before dismissing 2mm. Here are five good reasons to ‘go small’:
1. More bang for your buck
Small miniatures cost less, and a whole battalion might be stored in a matchbox. That holds true for all troops, and to a lesser degree for all terrain, which must, after all, take up the same area. Two battle packs – that is, four armies, and what I normally buy for a period – with postage and a bit of terrain cost me less than one night in a motel for a wargames convention. Buy the Red Lancers of the Guard at 1:20 in 28mm, then talk to me about the cost of an entire period in 2mm.
