That things have changed there is no doubt. SELWG in October is no longer in South London; Warfare has abandoned Reading for Ascot; Salute is fashionably late with a brave shout of going for a November date. I wish them all the best of luck and plan to attend all three, either running games, trading, or just as a punter. If there is one thing that the hobby now needs it is support for those clubs who are prepared to take the risk of putting their money into a speculative venture when it is clear that some, maybe even many, of us are still concerned about the health risk of large gatherings.
But, before we abandon the lessons of the past and rush to return to the brave new world that we hope looks comfortably like the old one, let us not forget what we have achieved during lockdown that we can hopefully benefit from going forwards.
