Six new stamps explore key engineering and technical advances that were part of the Industrial Revolution, the chapter in our history which saw the introduction of mechanised production, powered by steam and water, and led to huge social and economic changes in Britain. The set also touches upon the advances of the ‘Electric Revolution’ and the harnessing of electricity, which would bring sweeping changes in communications and daily life.
