If the stars had aligned, right about now Van Halen fans might have been looking forward to a tour bringing together an expanded reunion of the band’s original line-up, alongside post-Roth frontmen Sammy Hagar and Garry Cherone. That was a plan under discussion at one point, according to Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang, before the legendary guitarist fell ill and eventually passed away last October. Instead we’re left to look back on a stellar career that surely had even more to give.
At least we have this diligently researched, perceptive and well-written biography, written by Classic Rock contributor Paul Brannigan, to enhance our appreciation.
