THE LISTENING POST

Radio Onda Corta Venezuela Returns to the Air

~ Radio Onda Corta Venezuela is back on the air, this time using 6205 kHz and is being heard around 1300 UTC. The station identifies itself as being from El Tigre.

~ There have been no reports this month on Radio Vanuatu, especially on the third-harmonic 11835-kHz frequency. Have they fixed this?

~ The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corp. (SIBC) has recently been on an extended schedule running until 0700 UTC (usually closes at 0500 UTC) on 9545 kHz. No word on their usual 5020-kHz frequency as the 9545-kHz frequency has not been active in years.

~ Radio Kuwait has abandoned 15540 kHz in favor of 15515 kHz when it carries English to Europe from 1800-2100 UTC.

Listener Logs

Your shortwave broadcast station logs are always welcome. But please be sure to double or triple space between the items, list each logging according to the station’s home country, and include your last name and state abbreviation after each. Also needed are spare QSLs, station schedules, brochures, pennants, station photos, and anything else you think would be of interest. The same holds for amateur radio operators who also listen to shortwave broadcasts … I know you’re out
