It began with a bit of a cough and headache.

‘I’m feeling a bit rundown,’ I said to my partner Dave.

‘Go and lie down and I’ll make you a nice cup of tea,’ he replied sympathetically.

But as the day wore on, I got worse and worse.

I started to feel sick – and then it started at the other end, too. Every time I coughed…well, you know what I’m saying!

A few days earlier, I’d tested positive for Covid-19.

It was never established who I’d caught it from as I’d had very little contact with anybody save for work and shopping – but I was a bit sceptical about the virus, so it was a shock to me when my symptoms escalated
