Where it’s cheaper to buy than rent

House prices have hit an all-time high based on what properties are fetching at sale. National home values rose 13.5% in the financial year to June 30, the highest annual rate of growth since 2004. 

But turn it around and look at it from the viewpoint of mortgage repayments, especially on fixed loans, and you could conclude that our house prices are cheap, as commentator Alan Kohler points out.
