VALLIVANA DE LA FIGUERA

‘I took inspiration from summers at my grandparents’ house’

You can hear the trickle of water, the pleasing scrunch of gravel underfoot, the light breeze caressing the leaves. You catch the soft scent of lilacs, cedar and wisteria, of healthy, moist earth. And all around you, everywhere you look, the garden is a feast for the eyes. The moment you enter garden designer Vallivana de la Figuera’s personal wonderland, in a charming Swiss village just outside Geneva, you understand why her talents are in demand across Europe and as far away as the exclusive Hamptons enclave near New York.

Though the views here of majestic Mont Blanc and the sublime Lake Geneva are very different from the landscapes of Spain’s Galicia.
