ROOTING FOR YOU

Taking small steps around our family garden, I was intrigued.

‘This little corner is all yours to look after,’ my dad Charlie, told me whilst pointing to a patch of soil.

My face lit up.

I may have been only fouryears-old but I was excited for this new responsibility.

I wanted to show my dad that I could take care of my mini garden and I couldn’t wait to make it my own.

My dad wasn’t always a keen gardener, but he would make use of every inch of space he had available to him.

We would eat fruit and veg fresh from the garden when they came into season.
