TOUR DE FRANCE FEMMES 24-31 JULY

Eight years after La Course by Le Tour was launched as a precursor to a stage race, last week organiser ASO finally announced the route for the first edition of the Tour de France Femmes.

It’s not a new concept. A Tour de France for women existed in some form or other between 1984 and 2009, when commercial realities finally forced its closure, Emma Pooley the last champion in a race reduced to only four stages.

Hot on the heels of Paris-Roubaix Femmes, its rebirth is a big deal.
