4 Craft& Hobby Magazines

Successful freelance writers are good at developing and pitching stories on a variety of topics, but even the most successful writers sometimes skip over obvious opportunities in their daily lives. For instance, I know more than a few writers who like to knit and/or crochet. And there are magazines that cover both activities. Like to work with wood? Multiple magazines cover that as well, including our friends at Popular Woodworking.

For many writers, these crafting activities may feel like a hobby or “something done for fun.” But it’s also a freelance writing opportunity, because the act of succeeding (and even failing) at an activity provides insight that other non-crafters don’t possess. However, the opportunities don’t end with craft magazines.
