THE OMEGA MUSEUM in Bienne early in 2021; sitting around a table strewn with watches are Susanne and Hans Kocher and the museum staff. The watches are Hans’ father’s lifetime collection, carefully chosen over a remarkable career in Swiss watchmaking, and now bequeathed to him.

Hans Kocher Sr was General Director at watchmaking firm Buren and one of four men who in the mid-to-late 1960s took on not only their countrymen at Zenith but also, as well as the Autavia and a host of other chronographs. Hans Kocher Sr was watchmaking royalty.
