1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z/28

It’s hardly a casual statement: Ed’s first car was a 1969 SS/RS 350/four-speed example that set into motion a complete immersion into the famed F-body. In time, the Gilbert, Arizona, resident developed an uncanny ability to find particularly unusual examples, including several that have been profiled within these pages, such as his 1968 Z/28 (November 2011), his Yenko Camaros (March 2013), and a low-mileage, Fathom Green 1969 Z/28 (September 2014).

Now meet Ed’s latest unusual Camaro: a Cortez Silver 1969 Z/28. What makes it so interesting is the series of circumstances that left it partially disassembled for decades, complete with a feature that was never offered on a Z/28 when new. As Ed explains,
