If by now you’ve glanced through the feature cars in this issue, the face of Jonathan Atkinson may already be familiar. His stunning Moke and its long-term restoration makes quite a story and the end result is nothing short of incredible, it’s one of the best Mokes we’ve come across in a long time. Instead of taking a well-earned break after undertaking such a mammoth project, he’s been keeping himself busy building this Z Cars RWD Mini saloon with a 1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa engine, no less!

“I’ve been into grasstrack racing for years and along with my dad, we built a Class 8 bike engined Mini special,” Jonathan tells us, “I’d always fancied the idea of a bike engined car for the road and longed for a Caterham or Westfield with this type of conversion.” At one point, Jonathan considered fitting a bike engine into his Moke, but as we know that never materialised and instead a potent 1430cc A-series found its way into that car. “I thought
