what compels a person to show up to work every day for zero income – for six years. Blue Mountains Life recently set out to find out.

Hawkesbury resident Diane Sweeny is one such person. For the last six years she has been showing up to volunteer for the Hawkesbury City Salvation Army.

“I think it’s (about) putting a smile of people’s faces. We have people who are heartbroken and devastated and I like it when we can help them and they can walk away happy and smiling.
