BECOMING LAWRENCE OF ARABIA

When people ask me why I became an archaeologist, I tell them it was an accident. I’ve had a lifelong habit of sleeping with the television on, and one time, when I woke up in the middle of the night, the movie Lawrence of Arabia was playing. I didn’t know who T.E. Lawrence was or why he was gallivanting around deserts, but I was captivated. From that moment on, I wanted to be Lawrence of Arabia!
