Is There a Psychology of Color?
We perceive color as a result of activities in our eyes and minds, so it makes sense to suppose that color affects our moods. After all, most of us have favorite colors, while other colors or combinations of colors may repulse us.
Artists obviously use color to make viewers respond to their work. Pablo Picasso’s Blue Period paintings from 1901 to 1904 convey a brooding sadness. Picasso created these dark, blue-toned works after his friend Casagemas died.
