Grave
It is all, all
over the earth, under
earth, a graveyard:
tree ferns, trees—roots,
bark, seeds—ancient
life that emerged
from the sea, forests
flooded to swamps
& bogs, transformed
to peat, transformed
again, sunk, covered
with layers of earth
with strangeamphibian, snake& later dinosaur
