If that’s the case, the Sony XR-65X90J could be just what you’re looking for, thanks to its heady mix of fancy features, perfectly pitched picture performance and a mid-range price tag.

The X90J has a UK variant, the X94J, which has slightly different feet and a feature called Rich Colour Enhancer. While Sony says the latter is enabled only when the set is in its Vivid mode, we have tested both models side
