Martin explains what to look for when buying an older motorhome

I have been inundated with questions in recent weeks from people new to classic motorhome/campervan ownership, as these past 18 months have brought so many newcomers into our beloved leisure activity.

I must admit to feeling extremely sorry for some of them, especially the people who have spent a considerable sum of money on a motorhome, only to fi nd out that a myriad of faults sit hidden beneath an otherwise shiny exterior. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and many of these buyers regret not taking someone along with them with a modicum of motorhome/vehicle knowledge.
