FRUIT OF the gods
If ever there was a magical fruit, it’s the pomegranate. Originally grown in ancient Persia, in Greek mythology it was known as the ‘fruit of the dead’ as it was said to have arisen from the spilt blood of the dead hero Adonis.
In the Quran, it’s said to grow in the Garden of Paradise – and in the Christian tradition, it’s long been debated that the ‘forbidden fruit’ that Eve stole from the Garden of Eden may have been a pomegranate and not an apple.
